Lost Table Culture and Togetherness in the Modern World

Lost Table Culture and Togetherness in the Modern World

The world is getting fed, but tables are emptying.

Once upon a time, dining tables were not just places for eating.
Family and conversation were there. Grievances were resolved there, elders were listened to, and children grew up there.

In our culture, the dining table is called:
* Abundance
* Unity
* Peace. Even sharing a slice of bread means sharing a life.

The world is not changing, it has changed.
! Everyone eats in the same house but on different screens
! Meals are finished in the car
! Snacking happens between meetings
! Eating is now seen as "a need that must be consumed quickly."

And every society is now debating this: Is food a culture, or just biological fuel?

In the Western world, there are now:
• Meal replacement powders
• Capsule nutrition
• AI-supported diet systems
• Single-person fast consumption models are growing. But there's one thing that isn't growing: human relationships. Because the issue isn't just food. It's how, with whom, and with what state of mind we eat.

It seems that the biggest loss of the modern world will be forgetting how to sit at the same table.

Yet, in our culture, a cup of tea was sometimes therapy, a bowl of soup was the past, and a dining table was the invisible bond that held the family together.

Now, there are many more products but less sharing.

In the future, everyone will be fed. But if we forget to sit at the same table, can we truly say we are full? I don't know the answer to that.
