Global Food Injustice and Hidden Hunger

Global Food Injustice and Hidden Hunger

Global Anomaly

In a world of abundance, hunger is still a reality. On one hand, children who can't finish their plates, on the other, families who can't put any food on their plates…

In food-rich countries, indecision about what to eat or not to eat, while in food-deprived countries, the desperation of "what can I find to eat today?"

Every year, 1.3 billion tons of food goes to waste, while in the same year, 828 million people struggle with hunger.

This is not just a production crisis; it's a distribution crisis. And inequality, in fact, begins in infancy.

A baby is born…

– In a village, in a house smelling of fresh milk.
– In a city, in the shadow of supermarket shelves. But not every baby has the same chance.
The first 1000 days — that is, the period from birth to 2 years of age — shapes a child's future.

Mental development, immunity, learning ability, even the likelihood of survival…

– The child in the village is close to nature but often lacking.
– The child in the city is fed with formula but often empty.

According to UNICEF data, 1 out of every 3 children in the world lives with the risk of hidden hunger. Food is not just carbohydrates or calories.

Food is justice.
Food is responsibility.
Food is sometimes a child's dream. Food wasted at one end of the world can change a child's destiny at the other end.

Is true nutrition about being full? Or being nourished? That is the biggest question.
