Psychology of Food and Mood Food

Psychology of Food and Mood Food

In the US, the "mood food" trend is adding a psychologist to your meal.

While I was in the US, something caught my attention. Restaurant menus didn't just have calorie information; they had a "Mood Booster" label.

- Improves your mood
- Increases concentration
- Reduces anxiety, and similar notes.

It was almost as if a psychologist was added to the meal. Now, our plates don't just contain protein and carbohydrates; they also contain mood. In fact, sometimes this is the most dominant ingredient.

This "Mood Food" trend, which started in America, focuses not only on the physical but also the mental and emotional effects of nutrition. So, what are we doing?

* What's on our plate?
* What about the plate of our soul?

Could the coffee we drink, the sweets we snack on, or even the bread we eat be emotion regulators?

Seeing this trend firsthand,
examining foods labeled with emotional effects on menus, supermarket shelves, and packaging, gave me a brand new perspective.

I believe that adopting the "Mood Food" approach in Turkey will be a big step for the psychological well-being of both individuals and society.

In other words, healthy plates for healthy souls and a collective state of well-being achieved through conscious consumption.

We will be talking more about the effect of food on our souls.
