The same product is banned in Europe, but freely available here. What are we consuming?
Sometimes, when you examine the same product in two different countries, the differences on the label are not just striking, they shake your conscience. Titanium dioxide, used in colored confectionery, has been banned in many European countries because it poses a health risk.
What about here?
The same product is still on the shelves. Because here, regulation follows, it doesn't lead. The same brand, the same product, but sold with different ingredients in different countries.
I'll tell you why right away. Because some countries protect their people, while others only think about their market. We still continue to trust every "E code" we see on the label. But we should know that some E codes have already been removed in some countries.
Today, among the additives banned in the EU, there are still those that end up on our tables. And we feed these to our children. Food safety is not just a laboratory issue; it's a public health matter.
So what should we do? !!!
• We should question more consciously,
• We should develop the habit of reading labels,
• We should distinguish between imitation products and healthy products,
• And perhaps most importantly,
we should raise our voices.
Because with food, not only the body but also the future is shaped. And whatever we eat, we are essentially consenting to it.
